Liverpool's defensive jitters won't prevent a win
Liverpool and Glasgow Rangers meet for the very first time in a competitive match at Anfield on Tuesday night in the UEFA Champions League. The hosts conspired to draw a topsy-turvy game 3-3 against Brighton & Hove Albion at the weekend, a result that further underlined the defensive deficiencies are starting to become very noticeable. Read our preview here:
Alisson band
One of the recent problems experienced by Jürgen Klopp's side has been that the normally very reliable Alisson has been conceding a disproportionate number of the shots he's been facing. Whilst he hasn't been helped in some regards by some lackadaisical defending by Trent Alexander-Arnold in particular, it is still a point of concern for the head coach, given that his number one custodian has only kept two clean sheets thus far. Luis Diaz, Harvey Elliott, Diogo Jota, and Darwin Nunez will all be pushing for a starting berth after coming off the bench at the weekend in a month that will have no let-up at all between games for the Reds.
Antonio, he's scoring again
Croatian striker Antonio-Mirko Čolak has hit the ground running at Ibrox after signing from PAOK in the summer. The 29 year old has eight goals in eight Scottish Premiership fixtures, and whilst even reaching the group phase of the elite European competition was an achievement in its own right for the Bears, manager Gio van Bronckhorst would dearly love to at least bloody the noses of the other sides in the pool in the four games left to them. They will need to be productive with a scant amount of possession in front of the Kop end, but are without seven of their first team squad through injury and suspension.
Betting tip
Parimatch have odds of 2.50 for Liverpool to get the win they need to go back in the top two, but with both teams scoring.
