Can Liverpool go unbeated as they face Man Utd
Liverpool unstoppable machine keeps on grinding out results after leaving Spurs in their wake. Can Manchester United stop the Reds juggernaut? Have a read of our preview here:
Liverpool just keep on winning
Jurgen Klopp’s side have now won 12 games in a row and only dropped two points all season. They have been unstoppable and there is no sign that things are about to change.
This is a team fully capable of going the entire season without losing a single game. It seems strange to think they have not won a single title in the Premier League era but now the question is how many consecutive crowns is this group of players able to bag.
Liverpool have 61 points in the Premier League in 2019-20 - the most any side has ever registered after 21 games in a single season across Europe's big five leagues.
They are surely capable of building a dynasty under the guidance of Klopp and the way they keep swatting aside opponents is a sign of their confidence and ability.
Manchester United will not be taken lightly, the draw between the two sides earlier this season was a warning shot to the Reds, but they will be expected to pick up another three points at Anfield on Sunday.
Top four the target for United
Manchester United will be aiming to finish in the top four. They haven’t got anything else to aim for and with Tottenham and Arsenal out of the race (Spurs fans may disagree), they have a great chance, which is a shock given how poor they have been.
The poor defeat against Arsenal was quickly put behind them with an emphatic 4-0 thrashing of Norwich City, a result that leaves them five points adrift of fourth-place Chelsea.
United can look at the emergence of Mason Greenwood as a positive from this season his four goals make him the highest-scoring teenager in the top-flight.
They can also take heart from the last couple of results at Old Trafford where they have netted four or more goals in back-to-back games for the first time since 2017 while a strong transfer window could also give them a bit of impetus over the next few months.
Marcus Rashford has netted 19 goals in all competitions this season which is better than any other player in the Premier League bar Raheem Sterling (20) and two clean-sheets in the last three games is a definite improvement when they’d only kept that many in their previous 30 outings prior to that run.
They know they will be up against it at Liverpool but beating Norwich so convincingly will at least give them confidence.
Liverpool v Manchester United betting tip
