Tuchel to triumph in Turin
Juventus off to a rocky start
The Champions League holders Chelsea travel to Turin in their pursuit of winning the trophy for two years running and face a patchy Juventus side. Massimiliano Allegri has returned to the club and been in charge of their worst start in 60 years, with the club being without a win in their first four league games, unheard of for the Old Lady. They bounced back with consecutive 3-2 victories against Spezia and Sampdoria, but they’ve been far from convincing in these early stages of the season. However, a loss against Man City at the weekend has been a rare blemish on a near-perfect start for Thomas Tuchel’s men in the league. He’ll be looking for an instant response that’s for sure.
Big Rom the difference for Chelsea so far
The Blues got off to a winning start to their Champions League group with a narrow 1-0 win at the Bridge over Zenit St Petersburg. A goal from the ever-reliable Romelu Lukaku was the saving grace for Chelsea, popping up with a powerful header at the back post to give Tuchel’s side three points. But Chelsea had their flaws in this game, being opened up on several occasions. None more so than when the Russian side broke into the Chelsea half and the ball was slotted across goal for striker Artem Dzubya to poke home, a ball that he was just millimetres from converting to salvage a draw. But this win has been a tale of Tuchel’s reign to date. Grinding out wins in games where they aren’t always the dominant team. But when they do dominate possession and get their free-flowing football going, this side can pick apart any of Europe’s elite.
The Old Lady showing her age?
Juventus have been a tale of woe to begin the season. As explained, their domestic campaign has been historically bad. The Ronaldo-shaped void in that Juve attack has struggled to be filled by the likes of Paulo Dybala, Alvaro Morata and Moise Kean. But these three are finding their feet in the final third, getting on the scoresheet this season regularly when Juve are in their attacking rhythm. But the issue for this tie, is that neither Dybala nor Morata are available to play at Stamford Bridge. The pair limped off in their win against Sampdoria, so Kean, Chiesa and Kulusevski will have to pick up the attacking baton for Juventus.
Juventus’s attacking shortages will mean they’ll struggle to break down a notoriously solid Chelsea defence, despite being the home side. I can see the Blues grabbing an impressive win in Turin to push on in their European campaign. That’s why I’m going with a Chelsea win with Betway.

A Chiesa-inspired 1-0 for the Old Lady. Impressive stuff, perhaps a turnaround on the horizon?
