Cement that top 4
Inter host Chievo on matchday 36 of the Italian Serie A. Internazionale are looking to cement their position within the top 4 whilst lowly Chievo have already been relegated, can the side from Milan take of advantage of that or will the team from Verona put a dent in Inter's Champions League hopes?
Inter
Luciano Spalletti's men can currently be found at 4th, 2 points behind Atalanta in 3rd but 1 point ahead of Milan in 5th with a game in hand on both. If I Nerazzurri win they will be 4 points ahead of their bitter rivals in 5th giving them a satisfying cushion with only 2 games left of this season to play and seeing that they are hosting a Chievo side that has lost 21 out of their last 35 games so far this should be highly achievable.
Inter may not have been doing as well as they would have wanted to do in recent weeks but they still have a respectable record consisting of 4 wins, 4 draws and 1 loss during their last 9 games. However, 3 of those draws came against the likes of Juventus, Roma and Atalanta which are all extremely capable sides meaning that Inter have nothing to be ashamed of.
Internazionale are desperate for the Champions league and should be fully focused come Monday, another incentive is that they travel to Napoli on matchday 37 which is not a game any team should expect something from meaning that if Inter don't dispatch of Chievo while Milan win their games the blue and blacks will be in a very precarious situation indeed.
Notable absentees
Brozovic, D'Ambrosio, De Vrij and Vrsaljko.
Chievo
The team from Verona has amassed a staggering 18(!) points this season, which includes an impressive 2 wins.. in other words, life cannot be easy for Chievo fans at the moment.
The men in yellow did actually manage to win a game a couple of weeks ago but that came against Lazio away from home meaning that it was most definitely a freak accident. To pile on the misery, Di Carlo's men have only managed to score a grand total of 25 measly goals meaning that they will most likely not be having a good time against a stout Inter defence.
This coupled with the fact that they have absolutely nothing to play for seeing how they've already parted with all of their pride and confidence means that Monday night will be another worth forgetting for A.C. ChievoVerona.
Notable absentees
Diousse, Giaccherini, Schelotto and Sorrentino.
Betting tip
Given that Inter are strong at home and Chievo are void of any "strongness" at all i will be backing an Inter win to nil at 4/5 with Bet365.
