Snooze-fest between Getafe and Atleti?
Getafe still firing blanks
After an underwhelming 0-0 draw with Athletic Club at the Wanda on Saturday, Simeone’s side will look to bounce back against a very poor Getafe side. Their form this season has seen Tuesday’s hosts pick up a total of zero points from their opening five games, only scoring one goal in the process. Conceding eight in five games isn’t great either but isn’t as bad as the ten conceded by the teams either side of them. They simply cannot find the back of the net.
Atleti’s struggles going forward
This game will not have many goals. On paper, this should play out to be a match that sees two sides who don’t bag goals regularly come up against each other, and I can simply see Getafe and Atleti cancelling each other out. Two blunt edges in attack, but both with contrasting form so far. As mentioned, Getafe’s 19th spot in La Liga is a far cry from their 8th place finish just two seasons ago. Getafe are a side on the decline, and a 3-0 loss to Rayo Vallecano on Saturday further condemns Getafe to a sure-fire relegation dogfight. Simeone’s men come into Tuesday’s match off the back of two 0-0 draws after also being held in midweek against Porto. They’ve shown little attacking impetus and it remains to be seen if they can keep up with Real Madrid’s strong start.
Felix’s moment of madness to cost the visitors?
Atletico will miss Joao Felix in attack as well after he received a red card at the weekend, so the attacking weight will be put onto Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann. The latter is yet to find the net on his return to the Spanish capital. However, if anyone is to break the deadlock come Tuesday, him and Suarez will have to be the ones to break down Getafe’s backline. Atleti certainly should win this, but the low goals market is very tempting on this game, and I think this bet gives us the best value with a lack of goals expected on Tuesday night.
While Simone’s side should cruise past Getafe, away from home and under the cosh to finally get off the mark for points this season, I can see Getafe putting up a proper fight and try and frustrate Atleti. That’s why I’m going with under 2.5 goals and BTTS: No, with bet365.

A bizarre Oblak goal means this one doesn't come through. Suarez double at the death sealed another late win for Atleti.
