Man City won't be knocked down in Copenhagen
Manchester City face off against FC København for the second time in a week in the UEFA Champions League when they head to Parken in the Danish capital on Tuesday evening. The first fixture ended in a 5-0 thrashing, and with the form Pep Guardiola's charges are showing at the moment, a repeat scoreline could be on the cards. Read our preview here:
Dik's out on the right
The 2021/2022 Superliga champions are having a torrid time defending their title, lying down in seventh and a record of losing more than they've won after 12 games of the campaign. This is matched by their goal-shy performances in Group G, with none at all at the halfway point rendering their very creditable stalemate with Sevilla moot. Dutch right-back Kevin Diks has been one of the few individuals that haven't looked out of place on the elite stage, but he'll have a very busing evening trying to track Jack Grealish cutting inside from the flank. Elsewhere, towering striker Andreas Cornelius could have some joy from set pieces if the hosts can find a pathway to the opposition final third with some kind of frequency.
Sergio on the left
The visitors have scored 16 with only three in reply (consolation strikes by rivals Manchester United) in the last four games, and the signs are ominous. As well as Erling Haaland breaking records all over the place with 20 goals to his name already for the Citizens, there have been important acquisitions in defence that have helped keep things ticking over in their own third. Manuel Akanji has barely put a foot wrong since arriving from Borussia Dortmund, and now fellow new face Sergio Gómez is emerging as a very promising candidate on the left side. The Spanish full-back has been introduced gradually by Guardiola in domestic competition, but the Champions League has been a different matter entirely. He will have the freedom to run at Diks or double up in an inverted role in the centre of the pitch on the rare occasions a move breaks down.
Betting tip
Casumo have odds of 3.00 for Haaland to bag at least another brace to add to his already ridiculous total.
