Fortress Goodison to be Blades downfall
Two teams with strong recent home and away records much contrasting to the alternative go head-to-head at Goodison Park as 11th-placed Everton take on relegation favourites but currently 15th-placed side Sheffield United. The last time these two met in the Premier League on Merseyside the Toffees ran out 2-0 winners with goals from Mikel Arteta and James Beattie as the Blades were relegated under Neil Warnock in 2007. Everton are tipped to win this one due to the quality of their squad that has more game changing players although Sheffield United have punched above their weight financially to get into the top tier in the first place, you can be sure they will give everything on Saturday afternoon.
Recent form
Both of Everton’s wins so far this season have come at home against Watford and Wolverhampton Wanderers, they have been good to watch of late with each team getting on the scoresheet and over 3.5 goals registering in their last three league games. Both sides have found the net in the first period in all of the Toffees’ last three, though I would expect an improved defensive display on Saturday with them to have a lot more of the ball. Eight of the 11 match goals in Sheffield United’s league campaign thus far have come in the second period and Chris Wilder’s side are unbeaten on the road. Thanks to 88th and 89th minute equalisers at Bournemouth and most recently Chelsea. Fortress Goodison has seen six league wins on the bounce for Marco Silva’s side, conceding just twice on that run. However the Blades have scored in their last seven away league games on the trot.
One to Watch
It is clear that Everton’s strength is in attacking areas with the likes of Richarlison having hit the ground running and their defensive frailties that could be exploited. Dominic Calvert-Lewin broke a six-month goal absence in the last game against Bournemouth however Richarlison will be the main threat. The athletic Brazilian was a shining star in a very average 2018/19 for the Toffees and is further proving his £50million price tag this season so far; the former Watford man scored 14 goals from 38 appearances and broke into the Green and Yellow national team as a result in his debut campaign.
Everton will have too much offensive quality and options from the bench for the battling Blades however they must play well and will earn the points that they receive from this match.

Against the odds and 16 goal attempts to two, Sheffield United won 2-0 with one shot on target thanks to a Yerry Mina own goal and a late Lys Mousset strike.
