Goals at Goodison
The reigning champions will be looking to get their title challenge back on track with a trip down the East Lancs to Everton. This fixture has produced goals in recent times and that pattern looks set to continue.
They’ve got the added boost of going top if they win.
A woeful record
Everton have taken a disappointing one point from a possible 18 against the top six so far this season. Already they’ve conceded six at home to Spurs, and Goodison Park is certainly no fortress with losses to Leicester, West Ham, and most recently going down 1-3 to Wolves at the weekend.
Both teams have a dangerous number of attacking options
It has to be said that when they have won at home the Toffees have mostly kept clean sheets against the likes of Fulham, Bournemouth, Cardiff and Crystal Palace. But then none of those teams are anywhere near the quality of Manchester City.
Goals all over the place
No fewer than 14 City players have bagged at least one goal in the Premier League this season. The likes of Agüero, Sterling, Sané and Gabriel Jesus who lead the line unsurprisingly also lead the top scorers list, but their midfield and defensive players have also been chipping in.
Over 2.5 goals is looking promising at 1/2
Everton spent big in the summer and have quality throughout the squad which is also reflected in their goalscorers coming from all over the pitch. Frontman and record signing Richarlison is top scorer but Gylfi Sigurdsson isn’t far behind in second place.
Betting Tip
Considering the stats the odds for over 2.5 goals in the match is looking quite promising at 1/2 (1.51) and I’m surprised that not one but a number of betting companies have gone for it.
Both teams have a number of dangerous attacking options with players that have a point to prove. I’ve gone with Unibet, not just because they have the best odds but they also have one of the best welcome bonuses on the market. You can read about it in a dedicated betting review guide here.
Based on recent history and recent results, 1/2 on over 2.5 goals in a solid bet for some midweek Premier League action.

City were outright dominant. They should've had about 10 in the first half. Just one of those days unfortunately.
