England to reach final of own tournament
Bramall Lane could witness a significant piece of history being made when England take on Sweden in the Euro 2022 semi-finals on Tuesday evening. The hosts will be desperate to book their place in the showpiece this weekend, but so too will Blågult for the first time ever. Read our preview here:
Setting the right Toone
The Lionesses looked to be headed out of the tournament against Spain, but turned things round in the nick of time to level things up before a Georgia Stanway screamer in extra time to send supporters wild. Ella Toone grabbed that leveller from the bench in the 84th minute, though head coach Sarina Wiegman could opt to again utilise her when fatigue is a significant factor, instead naming an unchanged XI.
No time for a Kull
Linda Sembrant prevented the same outcome against Belgium when she notched deep into injury time to set up this semi-final showdown. Peter Gerhardsson's charges are the highest ranked side left in the cup, but will be more than aware of the partisan home support. Silencing them early on might be ideal, though they will hope that the likes of Hanna Glas, Emma Kullberg and Jonna Andersson are available after the trio missed the quarter-final due to COVID-19.
