England to see off concerted Spain challenge
Euro 2022 hosts England kick off the quarter final stage of this summer's competition in buoyant mood. Mead's full of honey
In a squad chock full of players at the very apex of their games at present, Arsenal forward Beth Mead still manages to stand head and shoulders above the competition, and is currently the hot favourite to claim the Golden Boot, having plundered five goals already. Young teammate Alessia Russo has grown in stature, hitting a brace against Northern Ireland. The 23 year old will be pushing for a start in the knockouts.
The red Card
La Roja won their final group game against Denmark to book their date with the hosts, though it was achieved in the dying embers. Real Madrid widewoman Marta Cardona was the architect of that vital victory, and her creativity will again be required as an outlet against what is likely to be a possession heavy opposition.
Betting tip
England can be backed at odds of 4.33 at betway to win through to the semi-finals within normal time, with both teams scoring.
