Top 4 contenders clash in Frankfurt
Welcome back to domestic play after yet another national-squad gathering that really tested my patience but luckily for us all, it's back to normal. What better way to kick the weekend off with two Bundesliga teams aiming to break into the top 4?
Eintracht Frankfurt
Die Adler are yet to lose (2 wins, 2 draws) at the Commerzbank Arena with a 2-2 draw against Dortmund being the standout performance. Their goal-difference is rather bland (11-10) with not a single one of their games ending with over a goals difference.
High-scoring tendencies
However, 6 out of 7 games have produced over 2.5 goals meaning that the vast majority have been close and exciting. To point out the obvious, it also means that they have been directly involved in a lot of high-scoring games.
As you may have been able to deduct, Frankfurt have scored in every game so far but have also conceded in them all, bar the first game (1-0 win) and i really do expect them to keep this trend up due to the quality in the squad.
Lethal going forward
It really is no wonder Adi Hutter's men have been finding the back of the net so often with the likes of Bas Dost, Andre Silva and Goncalo Paciencia gracing their forward-line and the fact that they are going up against fellow top 4 contenders Leverkusen should not scare them one bit.
Bayer Leverkusen
Die Werkself have started this season tremendously well compared to last years (4 defeats in first 6) having won 4, drawing 2 and losing 1 (which came away at Dortmund and is a near given) of their first 7 games.
Fortunate fixture list
They have started the season well but it has to be said that they have had a ridiculously fortunate fixture list so far having played against 5 of the bottom 7 teams. It could be said that their 4-0 loss away at Dortmund is perhaps an indicator of tougher times to come, they were also rather fortunate in their 1-1 draw at home to Leipzig with the Red Bull team missing a host of great chances.
Peter Bosz's men have scored in all but one of their games leaving them with the decent goal-difference of 12-8 but as mentioned before, they have played against some weak opposition.
Betting tip
Both teams have high-scoring tendencies which is why i will definitely be backing Over 2.5 goals at 47/100 with Bethard.
Another tip with great value looks like Frankfurt win or draw at 31/50.
