Osasuna to seal the title at relegated Cordoba
Promoted side Osasuna look to extend their unbeaten run to 10 in their final away match of the season at already relegated outfit Cordoba. A victory would clinch the title in a memorable season for Los Rojillos returning to La Liga in style after a minor two-year absence. Cordoba on the other hand have had a desperately poor 2018/19, they were relegated from the Spanish top flight in the 2014/15 season but have failed to hit the heights since and will play in the third-tier next campaign for the first time in 12 years.
Take the title back to El Sadar
You would expect a team to want to get the title out the way before the last day of the season for a festival atmosphere in the final fixture at home. Osasuna are in outstanding form to do exactly that, unbeaten in nine (6W, 3D), not to mention five consecutive clean sheets leading into this one. The table-toppers have only lost two away games since the turn of the year and were 1-0 victors in the identical matchup last season. Osasuna are the highest goalscoring team in the league, so an increased margin of victory could be another profitable market.
Outstanding record for the visitors
Cordoba have not won against their opponents this Friday for almost 20 years. It was a comfortable three points in the reverse fixture in October, 3-1 it finished on the day with both of Osasuna’s top scorers this season grabbing a goal. Cordoba have won two of their last eight matches, but those victories have only been against fellow relegated teams, Gimnastic and Reus Deportiu. 47 points and 19 positions separate these two clubs with Cordoba the sorrow holders of the third worst home record in the division.
Very poor opposition
Only seven wins across the whole campaign and the worst defensive record in the Spanish Segunda Liga. Osasuna have conceded 41 goals less than the Andalusians. Federico Piovaccari is the White and Greens top scorer aged 34, but the offense has not been the problem, they have scored as many goals, 46, as Malaga who are sitting pretty in fourth. Osasuna’s front pair of Ruben Garcia and Juan Villar will be licking their lips at the prospect of coming up against the 21st-placed sides' ageing centre-backs. Miguel Flano, 34 and Chus Herrero, 35, started their most recent encounter. Though notably managed to register Cordoba’s first shut out since February in a 0-0 draw away at Rayo Majadahonda.
Osasuna to seal the title in style and coast to a straight forward victory in the South of Spain.
