Celtic to bounce back after European exit
Celtic welcome Motherwell to Celtic Park on Sunday afternoon during gameweek 5 of Scotland's Premiership.
Celtic
The Bhoys saw a very premature exit from the Europa League at the hands of Hunagry's Ferencvárosi TC which was both unexpected and disappointing given Celtic's European pedigree throughout the years.
Focus on domestic league
A minor upside to their exit is the fact they can now focus wholeheartedly on the league which has so far gone swimmingly well. Due to their European obligations Celtic have only played 3 league games compared to nearly all others who have managed 5, but find themselves, despite that, at 4th, 6 points behind Rangers who have 2 games in hand.
Another aspect Celtic will be happy with is that they have home comfort against one of the leagues worst performing teams which is always welcoming after having featured in a midweek European bout bound to have fatigued a few legs.
Dominant but whats new
Neil Lennon's men have won all 5 of their last games against Motherwell with the goal difference of 18-3 which should give you a good picture about how its most likely going to go on Sunday.
Motherwell
The Steelmen have gotten off to a horrific start having lost 3 and drawing 2 of their first 5 games against teams that they, well, should not lose against going off how well they played last season.
Negative start
Motherwell's 3rd place finish seems like a distant memory and things are probably not going to get much better with games against both Celtic and Rangers on the horizon. Their goal difference of 2-5 is shocking given the teams they have played against and if they do not shore up their defence in the coming weeks those numbers will rise quite a bit.
However, it's still early days so no panic is needed, at all, especially given that they face a few of the teams that are around and below them in the table.
If they manage to get up to last seasons level they will climb the table quickly, it just wont start this weekend against the countries best side.
Betting tip
