Brighton's excellent PL start to keep going
Brighton & Hove Albion proved there is both life after Graham Potter and that they remain in the top places in the Premier League this season for a reason after often having the better of Liverpool in a 3-3 thriller last weekend at Anfield. This Saturday, they face an erratic Tottenham Hotspur outfit at the Amex in the early evening kick-off where they will seek to take advantage of some very ordinary defensive work and potentially leapfrog their opponents in the table. Big Mac meal
With the World Cup in Qatar looming ever larger on the horizon, players across the world whose places in their national sides are far from guaranteed will be scrambling to perform at their peak ahead of the selection deadline. One such individual is Alexis Mac Allister. The central midfielder has been capped five times this calendar year by Argentina, but despite scoring four goals in just seven domestic games for his club side, he still faces a big battle to be named by Lionel Scaloni. Helping Roberto De Zerbi get his feet under the table in his new position as head coach of the Seagulls will enhance his chances. Leandro Trossard is unlikely to score hat-tricks every week, but his new, more central position in the front three behind Danny Welbeck is paying dividends.
Seeking Clément-cy
Meanwhile, all is not going swimmingly in the white and navy blue area of north London. After deservedly losing the derby 3-1 against Arsenal, they followed it up by delivering very ordinary performance in the goalless midweek draw against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League. Emerson Royal was sent off in the defeat to the Gunners, so Ivan Perišić may get the nod at right wing-back, particularly given Antonio Conte's recent words about Djed Spence. On the opposite side, Ryan Sessegnon needs to give Clément Lenglet more support in the battle to come against Trossard and Solly March. The Barcelona loanee has had an underwhelming start to life in the capital.
