Dortmund seeing yellow
The second leg of Dortmund vs. Spurs will kick off at full speed. The first meeting at Wembley ending resoundingly 3-0 to Spurs. Now they’re at home, Dortmund simply have to go for it and that’s what they’ll do from the off. High tempo and aggressive pressing across the pitch is what you’re going to get. On top of that they’ll have The Yellow Wall urging them on.
Dortmund
Die Schwarzgelben have really had a tough time of it the last few weeks, both in the league and in Europe. Injury to main man Marco Reus has been outright disastrous and has been one of the sole reasons why Bayern are now back in the fight for the title.
They’ve only managed one win in the last five weeks, and only kept a clean sheet twice since Christmas. It must be an extremely frustrating time for manager Lucien Favre, to see his team score goals but not be able to keep it tight at the back.
Tottenham will cause a defensively lacking Dortmund trouble on Tuesday night. They’ll put pressure on their back line and it’ll lead to mistakes being made.
Spurs
Likewise the Lilywhites are emerging from a tough period. They were hot on the heels on league leaders City and Liverpool before the Burnley match on 23 February, but only after taking one point from the last three it looks all but lost. Hanging onto their Champions League hopes is now number one priority.
Heading to Germany with a 3-0 lead in the bag must feel good. They don’t need to go full throttle against Dortmund with that kind of lead but their offensive trio will want to come away with something. If they get even one goal, they’ll surely kill the tie.
Betting tip
I have a feeling that Dortmund will start the match with a high tempo in order to grab a goal and keep the tie alive. If Spurs get a goal, it’s all but over. The fact that Dortmund will go full throttle and that they’ve been having defensive issues themselves will lead to a tough fight with some serious pressure points and the ref’s cards will come flying out.
That’s why I’m going for Dortmund over 1.5 cards at odds of 4/5 (1.80) with bet365.
