Barcelona facing elimination into Europa League
Barcelona's UEFA Champions League prospects are hanging by a thread ahead of their must-win clash with Bayern Munich tonight at the Camp Nou. The hosts are three points behind Inter, who face off against Czech champions Viktoria Plzeň in the other group game. Read our preview here:
Hector's Bellerin
Despite all the off-field financial stories, Blaugrana are sitting second in La Liga behind perennial rivals Real Madrid, having conceded just four goals in 11 games. This domestic form has not translated into similar success in European competition thus far, and former Bayern legend Robert Lewandowski's equaliser last time out against Inter is what has preserved their interest with two games left. Xavi has four first team members out, and Hector Bellerin is set to make his continental debut for his new side at right back.
Smash and Gnab
Bellerin will be up against Serge Gnabry down that flank, though the latter has a tendency to roam from his designated position and pop up down the middle. Several weeks ago, Julian Nagelsmann received the dreaded vote of confidence from the board after some sluggish Bundesliga displays by their very lofty standards, an event that seems to have spurred on his side to the heights expected of them (though they still trail Union Berlin).
Betting tip
The visitors are 3.00 to win and by doing so, to continue to have a perfect record in the group stage.
