Atalanta to brush past Brescia in top two chase
Atalanta continue to be one of the most impressive teams in Europe this season with several high octane, goal-filled displays. Will it be a walk in the park against already doomed Brescia? Have a read of our preview here:
Keeping the pressure on those above
Running out of superlatives is hard but in Atalanta’s case we’ll make an exception. They have been so good this season that it is becoming quite difficult to lay any more praise on Gian Piero Gasperini’s side.
The sheer quality the exude night after night is so impressive but the way in which they are able to play at such a high tempo when games are coming thick and fast is the icing on the cake.
The just don’t stop and as they prepare to face Juventus, a match which could all but seal the title for Juve, they will know there is a real opportunity to finish in the top two with Inter struggling and Lazio in freefall.
A lot has been said about their front three, but this is a real team full key contributors all over the park.
Robin Gosens and Marten de Roon have been superb for La Dea, often not getting the credit for their efforts.
It is because of players like the pair mentioned above, that Atalanta can push the other sides above them so hard. They have real game-changers on the bench who all know their role in a well-oiled system.
In 2020/21 a title push is a real possibility.
What’s gone wrong for Brescia?
Last season Brescia were a delight to watch. They dominated sides in Serie B and were able to outplay them and outscore them.
Alfredo Donnarumma was smashing home the goals, ably assisted by Ernesto Torregrossa and the fans were loving it.
This season, much like the last time Brescia made it into Serie A, has been a horrible slog that they will be glad to see the back of.
Sandro Tonali has been good but they are almost certain to sell the youngster this summer and Serie B will not be easy with a number of other key players likely to move on.
28 goals in 31 games tells its own story, compared to Atalanta’s 85 and you can see just why these two sides are at opposite ends of the table.
Atalanta v Brescia betting tip
The side from Bergamo are like a goal factory, churning out a ridiculous number every match like a mechanised production line. With that in mind, we are backing this game to finish with over three goals at odds of 1.8 with bet365.
