Villains to turn it around
Aston Villa welcome Newcastle to Villa Park in the last match of the Prems gameweek 19. Both teams will want to end their bad runs of form for differing reasons but can they, or will it end in a stalemate?
Aston Villa
The Villains have suffered three consecutive defeats in a row leaving them at a disappointing 11th place. However, things are not as they may seem due to the fact that Villa's last three defeats have come against Manchester City, Liverpool, and Manchester United. They even drew at Chelsea before the string of losses meaning they have come through a tough run of games and can now look upwards.
Not as it seems
Furthermore, Their loss to Liverpool was due to the u23 squad taking the first teams place in the FA cup. Also noteworthy is that Dean Smiths men have played three games less than most of their opponents meaning that they can climb as high as 4th if they win their three lagging fixtures against considerably easier opposition.
Aston Villa performed admirably and could have snatched a point or two had they been a little more lucky, if they manage to perform nearly as well as they have done the last few weeks i do not see why Villa cannot make it to 4th.
Newcastle
The Magpies have had a tough run of things as of late and find themselves in the midst of a nine game winless run, of which 7 ended in defeat. Whats worse is that Steve Bruce's men have only mustered a single goal in their last five league outings spelling trouble for Newcastle given that the teams under them have started to perform.
Crunch time
Newcastle now face a spell of fixtures that are tricky, but doable, and could potentially decide whether or not they manage to secure yet another Premier League contract as after this spell of "tricky but doable" games, they face the top eight teams as well as the ones under them that have begun to perform.
Callum Wilson and the rest of the attacking players have to find their scoring boots pronto in order to further themselves from the relegation spots, but can they?
Betting tip
Aston Villa have played very well despite results not going their way whilst Newcastle have gotten progressively worse over the last couple of months which is why i will be backing Aston Villa to win at 1.47 with Betway.
