Seasons first London derby
Arsenal welcome West Ham to the Emirates on Saturday evening during matchday 2 of the Premier League. The pair endured very contrasting starts to life with Arsenal being the happier of the two but how will it end this weekend?
Arsenal
The season might still be in its infancy but Arsenal's confidence and the optimism surrounding the team grows exponentially everyday and with good reason.
A new dawn
Mikel Arteta has implemented change that has altered Arsenal at its core introducing a winning mentality and a no BS approach that seems to have stuck. A string of wins against the Prem's best teams have only fuelled the narrative that Arsenal are now a real force to be reckoned with after all those years on the sidelines.
Another huge happening is the fact that club captain Aubameyang recently signed a new 3-year contract ending all speculation of his future while also ending a horrible trend of former captains leaving the club for greener pastures.
Great start
The Gunners opening win against Fulham was more than solid and i fully expect them to continue with their strong run of form stretching back from last season.
West Ham
The Hammers are not in a good spot a the moment and if things don't get even marginally better soon it feels like the club will implode.
Freefalling
David Moyes managed to steer West Ham clear of relegation last season by the skin of their teeth finally putting and end to the misery endured during a majority of last seasons campaign. That same misery is dangerously close to wrapping around them like a wet blanket after a summer without any notable signings and players that are simply not performing.
The opening loss to Newcastle was poor in every sense and if that is what it will look like against a very average side, what will it look like against the top sides?
Not the optimal start
West Ham need a win to get some momentum going but it most probably wont happen on Saturday.
Betting tip
Arsenal look like the real deal which is why i will simply be backing an Arsenal (-1) handicap win at 2.30 with Betway.
