Arsenal's woes to continue?
Arsenal welcome Southampton to the Emirates on Wednesday night in an anxiety-ridden bout for the North Londoners. Will they pick themselves up by the bootstraps or will this highflying Southampton team take yet another scalp?
Arsenal
Their defeat to Burnley, at home, this past Sunday was shambolic and incredibly embarrassing and has left them down at an unbelievable 15th place after 12 games.
The players are performing nowhere near the level they are capable of and the tactics always seem to be a bit off, in order to change their negative trend, big changes are needed. Unfortunately for the Gunners, there is rarely a "quick fix" in football meaning all they can do is endure, for now.
Horrible statistics
Arteta's men have only mustered together a meagre 10 goals whilst shipping 15 in the process, for a little perspective, that is as many goals as Son has scored in the same period of time. Another scary comparison for Arsenal fans is that Southampton have so far scored 24(!).
If i were an Arsenal fan, which i unfortunately am, i would be very, very worried.
Southampton
The Saint's have been nothing short of fantastic thus far and can be found at an über impressive 4th place, only 2 points below leaders Tottenham. They have scored 24 goals whilst conceding 15 in the process and have beaten or at least drawn all teams on their level, bar Crystal Palace in the opener.
Collective strength
Ralph Hasenhüttl's team might not have the biggest stars or the deepest pockets but manage to nonetheless surpass all expectations on a regular basis. Hasenhüttl has, over the years transformed this Southampton team into a well-oiled machine that are incredibly hard to beat.
They now face a demoralised Arsenal squad at the best time possible and will have the knowledge that they are truly in the fight for a spot in next years Champions League. For now at least.
Betting tip
Arsenal have been a joke thus far whilst Southampton have been the total opposite which is why i will be backing Draw or Southampton at 1.65.
