Attacking talent on show at the Emirates
Arsenal’s home form in 2019 is like a bottomless pit…floorless or flawless if you prefer but they will face a stern test with the visit of Napoli on Thursday evening.
Home sweet home
The Gunners are on an impressive run at the Emirates winning every single game at home in 2019. The winning streak extends to 10 games if you go back into 2018 and they haven’t lost at home since August 12 against Manchester City.
This Arsenal side have the ability to challenge for the title if they can improve on the road and make a couple of defensive additions but five clean-sheets in the last 10 at home suggest there is not a lot wrong.
Make mine a Neapolitan
Last season’s heart break was compounded for the Partenopei when manager, Maurizio Sarri left for Chelsea. It looked like the club were on track to record their first Scudetto since 1990 but a defeat at Fiorentina and a home draw against Torino saw them fall short by four points.
They have not been anywhere near as close to Juve this campaign with the Turin giants running away with the title, currently 20 points clear. Despite this, Carlo Ancelotti’s side are easily the second best in Italy and have only lost twice in the last 14 in Serie A.
Attacking the order of the day
Both sides have a plethora of attacking players so it could be a very open game with plenty of goals. In the last 10 league matches the Gunners have scored an impressive 19 goals while their opponents have hit exactly the same.
Dries Mertens is lethal when he gets an opportunity and the Arsenal backline don’t fill many with confidence even if Bernd Leno has been in exceptional form in 2019.
The Gunners are far better going the other way and with Lacazette leading the line with gusto there is a lot of faith in Emery’s side.
In fact, Lacazette has scored or assisted in every Premier League home game in 2019
They also have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in scoring form and Mesut Ozil is back to his best, pulling the strings from midfield. This is an Arsenal side set up to attack and attack they will.
Betting tip
With all this offensive talent on show there are bound to be goals and probably at both ends of the pitch. Napoli are unlikely to just sit back given their quality so backing this game to finish with over 3.5 goals at odds of 2/1 could be a good option here.
