Gunners firing while Bielsa battles injury crisis
Arteta finding his groove
With Arsenal starting the season with three consecutive losses and not scoring a single goal, this looked to be a long season for the Gunners faithful. However, with Arteta's side going unbeaten in their last seven matches, with their most recent being an impressive 3-1 win over Aston Villa on Friday night, Arsenal are certainly on good run. A 3-0 victory in the last round of the Carabao Cup against AFC Wimbledon wasn't exactly Arteta's biggest test as manager. But a convincing victory nonetheless, should breed confidence that his side can progress further in this competition without the distraction of European football.
Leeds stumbling out of the blocks
Bielsa's side come into this tie off the back of a 1-1 draw with Wolves, with a 94th minute Rodrigo equaliser salvaging a point for the hosts that day. Leeds are all the way down in 17th, a far cry from an impressive return to the Premier League last campaign. In their last round of the cup, Leeds were taken to a penalty shootout by Championship side Fulham, a further sign of their early season struggles.
History doesn't favour the visitors
The last time these two met at the Emirates, Arsenal claimed a 4-2 victory against Leeds in the league. Moreover, the visitors haven't beaten Arsenal since 2003, and have lost seven of their last nine meetings. Leeds will also be without Robin Koch, Luke Ayling, Junior Firpo, Raphinha and Patrick Bamford for Tuesday nights fixture as they all miss out due to injury. It looks to be a long night for Bielsa's side if Arsenal continue their rich vein of form.
With Leeds' injury concerns leaving many of their best players sidelined, I can see Arsenal carrying on their fine form to progress to the next round of the cup. That's why I'm backing Arsenal to win with
