AIK to make it two in a row?
Last year's champions AIK welcome Elfsborg to Friends Arena in Stockholm on Saturday, both teams are in their own little rut and will be looking to change that asap.
AIK
AIK got back to winning ways during their last outing away to a plucky Kalmar side which will have everyone in the organisation breathing a huge breath of relief. They will also be very happy with the fact that they are now facing an Elfsborg side that have not won an away game in 4 tries and have lost 4 out of their 7 away games this season.
Despite what is an average start from AIK's point of view the team from just outside of the capital are very strong at home having lost only 1 out of 8 games at Friends Arena.
AIK have only conceded 4 goals at home this season and i do not expect that number increasing after Saturday's clash due to AIK having one of the leagues best defences coupled with the fact that Elfsborg's main goalscorer is suspended.
Elfsborg
The team from Borås are having a very average season, they currently find themselves at 8th with 4 wins, 6 draws and 4 losses. Bang average.
A big issue is that their two best players, Stefan Ishizaki (37) and Samuel Holmen (35) are simply getting too old. They still have plenty of quality but clearly lack speed and do not posses the reactions they once had which is problematic for Elfsborg due to the fact that the team is so heavily reliant on the pair.
Another problematic issue is that Elfsborg are travelling to what is one of the seasons hardest fixtures and with the away stats of 1 win, 2 draws and 4 losses this is not likely to end in their favour.
Lastly, the fact that top scorer Pawel Cibicki is suspended for this game pretty much seals the deal, they honestly have the hardest time scoring without him.
Betting tip
For some strange reason AIK are priced higher than they should be which is why i will be backing an AIK win at 19/25 with Bethard.
