Hammarby to continue winning streak?
Welcome back to Seb's tips after my week-long hiatus. We kick this weekend off with a good one, AFC Eskilstuna against Hammarby in the Swedish Allsvenskan. Each team can be found on opposite sides of the table and have a gulf in quality the size of the Grand Canyon which is why this will hopefully be my 7th correct Allsvenskan tip in a row. Read on for more.
AFC Eskilstuna
The team from Eskilstuna (shocker) have had a pretty poor campaign thus far racking up 2 wins, 5 draws and a lowly 9 defeats. They are second to last in the table only on goal difference and are heading straight back to the second division which is honestly where they belong.
They recently lost centre back and one of their most important players Felix Michel to AIK which makes things more problematic for them which i did not even think was possible at this stage.
Their 2 wins have come at home which has prompted some people to think and say that they are decent at home but trust me, they most definitely are not. I could go into why and how that is but it's enough to write that they, in all honesty, got pretty damn lucky in both wins.
I'll round this off with saying that they were on a 13 game winless streak.
Hammarby
The Stockholm team have really gotten wind behind their sails lately and are currently on a 3 game winning streak with each of which producing over 5 goals. They recently saw off Elfsborg with 5-2 and prior to that beat Sundsvall 3-2 as well as Falkenberg with 6-2.
Bajen (their nickname) are known for playing the most attractive, attacking football in Sweden but have a real bad habit of conceding unnecessary goals far too often. It is of course a problem but not as much as some would think, especially when they manage to score as many goals as they do.
On a serious note, superlatives aside, Hammarby seem to have found a winning formula and have been more than impressive. They know that if they are to mount a title challenge these are the kind of games that they simply must win.
All things taken into account it really is starting to look highly positive for the men in green and white which is why i see them leaving Eskilstuna with all 3 points.
Betting tip
Due to Eskilstuna performing well below par and Hammarby flying high i can realistically see this going only one way. The biggest problem, which is a luxurious one, is that there are quite a few lucrative bets to choose from. One that stands out is however a Hammarby win and over 2.5 goals at 6/5 with Bethard.
Other solid bets are a Hammarby win at 57/100 and Hammarby to score over 1.5 goals at 3/5.
