Juventus will dominate the Turin derby

Saturday at 19.30 will see home side Torino take on archrivals Juventus in the Turin derby at the Stadio Olimpico. Historically this match up has always been dominated by Juventus. Now Juve are stronger than ever while Torino continue to blow hot and cold. It’s no wonder then that the away side go into this one as strong favourites.

Torino

Turin’s smaller side, Torino have enjoyed a favourable campaign this autumn that’s earnt them a well deserved spot in sixth place. It’s strange that away from home they’ve played quite well, while on more familiar turf it’s been nothing short of a catastrophe.

Away from home they’ve not lost a match this season with the stats to back it up. On the other hand, at home they’ve lost three, won three and drawn one with an average goal count of 1.29 scored and 1.43 let in.

Belotti, Baselli, Falque and others still have a lot to prove this season, and it’s seriously time they started producing.

It’s telling that their wretched home form has in due course not produced many goals, or goal scoring opportunities. Now to top it all off they’re facing a formidable foe in Juventus where they basically have no chance of winning.

Juventus

Possible the world’s best club side at the moment, Juventus are going into this as stonewall favourites, let alone as the team expected to run away with Serie A this season. They’ve already racked up a considerable lead, creating serious space between them and second place Napoli to the tune of 8 points.

They’re easily favourites to win against every opponent they come up against in Serie A. But against cross town rivals Torino just how much they’re tipped to win it is almost laughable. Of the last 10 meetings between the two, Juventus have won 9 and 1 went down as a draw.

On top of that, Juve’s away form is blistering. They’ve won every game and have a goal difference of 16-4. While they struggled to see teams off early on in the season, recently they’ve picked it up beating Milan 0-2 and Fiorentina 0-3 on the bounce.

There’s quality throughout Juve’s ranks, but you can always point to their sheer dominance in attack with the likes of Ronaldo and Dybala. Then there’s a watertight defence with Bonucci and Chiellini at the core.

Alex Sandro is out injured but coach Allegri will still have a choice starting 11 to choose from.

Betting Tips

As I said, Juventus pretty much always triumph in the Turin derby. Now with the Old Lady looking better than ever, Torino are going to have a tough time of it to say the least. On top of that Torino have endured a tough season at home which Juve will in no doubt seek to take advantage of. Juventus have superior quality in every area of the pitch as well as the stats, form and history on their side.

That’s why I’m going for Juventus -1 at odds of 1/1 (2.00) with Bethard.
