Can Mozyr extend Minsk's losing streak?
Dinamo Minsk face an away trip to struggling Smolevichy in the Friday afternoon kick-off. Can the home side finally pick up a win or will Dinamo continue their improvement? Have a read of our preview here:
Slavia aim to remain unbeaten at home.
Slavia Mozyr, from the town of Mazyr in the Gomel region of Belarus in the south-east, have made a solid start to the Premier League campaign.
After finishing a respectable eighth last season, they look to be heading along a similar trajectory based on the first five results in the top flight so far.
Defeat on the opening day of the season was followed up with a hugely impressive win at home to 15-time champions BATE before beating current title holders Dinamo Brest on the road.
A 0-0 draw against Ruh Brest on matchday four meant they head into week six still unbeaten at home despite a defeat last weekend away at Isloch.
They appear to have a very competitive team capable of mixing it with the best sides in the division but getting on a consistent run of form will be the only thing that convinces supporters that they are capable of doing better than last season.
FC Minsk will be no easy game but with the home advantage, it could give them the edge they need.
Good start was a false dawn
FC Minsk opened the season with back-to-back victories including an impressive derby victory against city rivals Dinamo Minsk in which they stormed into a 3-0 lead at the break.
This gave the fans a real sense of optimism, but they have not managed to pick up a point in any match since.
In fact, FC Minsk come into this one having lost each of their last three, failing to score in a single goal in any of those defeats.
It is a real concern given their fine start to the campaign. Slavia are a solid Premier League team and could extend Andrey Razin’s sides poor run a little longer.
