Inter to get back on track?
Internazionale Milan travel to Sassuolo on Sunday on matchday 8 of Italy's Serie A and are in need of a win in order to keep up with Juventus whom will surely victor over Bologna on Saturday. Sassuolo find themselves in a precarious 15th place and are in dire need of more points in order to avoid getting dragged into talks of a relegation fight but will they succeed against this new-look Inter?
Sassuolo
I Neroverdi have only managed to claim 6 points from a possible 18 and currently find themselves 5th from last after a few disappointing results despite having scored 11 goals (8th most) in those 6 games.
The only issue is that they have conceded 12 in the same timespan, thus leaving them dangerously far down. However, it's too early in the season to be alarmists and a win on Sunday could push them as high as 10th so the situation is really not that dire.
Struggle against top opposition
The fixture list after this game is also a rather fortunate one and will be the real indicator as to how the rest of Sassuolo's season pans out. What is quite obvious though is that Sassuolo struggle against top opposition, basically, long story short, they have lost against all teams above them in the table and Inter is by far the best team they will have faced so far.
Internazionale Milano
Inter rolled up to their first major road block of the season when they narrowly lost to Juventus a fortnight ago and it will be interesting to see how they cope with the setback.
A psychological aspect is that they have a make-or-break clash against against Dortmund in the Champions League next Wednesday and i can imagine that a victory after 2 straight defeats will be very welcoming indeed.
Necessity that Inter win
It is also more than a matter of necessity that Inter win on Sunday if they are to keep up with Juventus and really challenge for the Scudetto but given how well they have performed compared to Sunday's opposition thus far, a win is honestly quite close at hand.
The fiery Antonio Conte won't have any issues firing up his troops and i expect another stellar performance from the Nerazzurri.
Betting tip
I have a hard time seeing this end in any way other than a black and blue win which is why i will be backing an Inter win at 71/100 with Bethard.
