Russia vs. Denmark
Russia and Denmark face off in Copenhagen during group B's last batch of games. Group B is still wide open, bar Belgium, with Russia and Finland both on three and Denmark at the bottom with zero. Interestingly, if Belgium beat Finland and Denmark beats Russia, Denmark could end up finishing second. Interesting stuff for all the neutrals out there.
Russia
The Russian's were severely outplayed during their first game against Belgium which ended in a 3-0 defeat but in all honesty, nothing less was expected. However, against Finland, as i predicted, coach Stanislav Cherchesov and co. turned in a resolute performance and ended up winning with 1-0.
The Russian's usually get the job done when faced with less opposition but do, quite naturally, have a hard time against better teams as can be seen in their rather recent defeats to Turkey, Serbia, Slovakia, and, of course, most recently Belgium.
This could potentially be a make or break game, the issue for the Russian's is that Denmark is just as good as any of the aforementioned teams, bar Belgium, making this a tricky test for Russia.
Denmark
Saying that Denmark have thus far been unfortunate during this tournament is a HUGE understatement. The medical emergency Eriksen went through put the whole Danish team out of balance, and rightfully so. In these situations, football comes second hand and the fact that they finished the game later that same day is a shambles.
Basically, the Dane's have had a huge uphill battle. However, their performance against Belgium was a huge improvement and the fact that they lost was unfair, to say the least. Denmark took the lead after just two minutes but ended up losing with 1-2 despite managing twelve shots compared to Belgium's four.
That performance, combined with their results before the Euro's as well as the quality they possess in their squad gives me the feeling that they will somehow manage to qualify to the round of 16.
Betting tip
Denmark have the better squad and as just mentioned, i believe they will pull through which is why i will be backing Denmark to win at 1.70 with Betway.
