Another high-scoring affair?
PSG welcome Barcelona to Paris's Parc Des Princes for the second leg of their round of 16 Champions League bout. PSG absolutely dominated the first leg with 4-1 leaving them in an extremely fortuitous position. The same can however not be said about Barcelona who's outlook is black as night, but, we do remember the comeback in 2017 that saw Barca win the second leg with 6-1, advancing past PSG meaning that anything is possible.
PSG
The Parisians have, since the appointment of Mauricio Pochettino, been in fine form racking up 8 wins, 1 draw, and 2 defeats in their last 11 league games whilst also obviously beating Barcelona with 4-1 during that time as well.
Positive impact
Their goal difference of 23-6 is further evidence of their dominance but is also evidence of the positive impact new coach Pochettino has had on the squad.
There is only one thing on PSG's mind and that is winning the Champions League, with Pochettino, they have an experienced coach capable of managing their superstars, an aspect that could very well bring them glory.
Barcelona
Koeman and co. look to finally be finding their feet following a great run of 16 games without defeat, of which 13 were wins which has propelled them up to 2nd place, only 3 points behind leaders Atletico with 1 more game played.
Not what they once were
Despite their strong run of form, it was very apparent in their defeat to PSG that Barca are not what they used to be, they lack going forward and have large problems defending which can be seen in the fact that they have conceded 22 times in 26 outings.
On the other hand, we know that miracles are possible with their comeback against PSG back in 2017 being the perfect example. Basically, with Messi in the team, pretty much anything is possible, no matter how bad the rest of the team is. Possible, but not likely.
