Improving Belshina travel to Neman Grodno
Football continues in Belarus with Neman hosting Belshina on Friday night to kick-off round four of this season’s campaign. Can the home side find a run of consistent form? Have a read of our preview here:
Neman enjoy solid start
Neman Grodno have enjoyed a solid start to the Belarusian Premier League campaign. The only league in Europe to continue through the current global crisis has been enjoying the attention of football fans the world over.
Neman will be hoping they can replicate the last result they produced on home soil when they beat Vitebsk.
Last weekend they came away from Shakhtyor Soligorsk with a point without ever really looking like they were going to score.
Their most productive player going forward was Gegam Kadimyan who had five shots during the match but struggled to really test the keeper.
They relied on goalkeeper Dmitri Dudar to maintain parity and will, in the end, be happy to escape with a draw as they prepare to host Belshina.
Belshina yet to bag a point
Belshina Bobruisk’s troubles continued last weekend when they were defeated at home by a single goal against Gorodeya.
It means last season’s champions of the Belarusian First League are yet to register a point this season and have only managed to find the net once since winning promotion.
Three straight defeats may not be good but it is too early get carried away. A 3-1 lost against FC Minsk on the opening day has been followed up by two 1-0 defeats in matches where Belshina can feel unlucky not to have got at least a point.
Pavel Bordukov was probably their best player last time out but Segey Glebko came closest to getting a goal when his late volley came crashing back off the post.
It leaves them in the bottom two as they head into the fourth round of matches but there are plenty of positives to take from the last two performances.
Neman vs Belshina betting tip
Belshina are showing signs of life so Neman will not find them an easy opponent. It is set up to be a close game so we are backing this one to finish with under 2.5 goals at odds of 1/2 with Betfair.
