Cleanup in aisle Chisinau
One of Europes worst national teams (5th worst to be exact) are up against the world champs and this can really only go one way, bar an absolute miracle.
France
Les Bleus are travelling to Chisinau to kick off their European qualifier campaign against minnows Moldova. Since their world cup triumph the frenchmen have been in decent form racking up 3 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss. They put in acceptable performances against strong sides like Germany and Holland in the Nations League but how much a pair of those other results matter is debatable due to the fact that they were friendlies. The French are travelling with an incredibly strong squad with all of the usual suspects included (Pogboom, Griezmann etc etc..) and will be wanting to wrap group H up as early as possible.
Moldova
I honestly don't want to be stepping on any toes here but Moldova are god-awful. Indescribably bad. The only teams they ever manage to beat are the sides under them, basically San Marino and Andorra. Moldova have won 3 of their last 30 games ( 2 against San Marino and 1 against Andorra) drawn 10 and lost the rest which is absolutely shocking. I always try to find positive aspects or glimmers of hope for the underdogs but i am, as you may have guessed, unable to find any this time round. As if you needed any more reason to bet against Moldova i'll just round this off with the fact that Moldova have failed to score in 7 of their 11 last games and that includes games against the likes of Armenia and Belarus.
Betting tip
Unless France go 3 men down within the first 10 minutes i cannot see anything other than a French win which is why i will be backing a France (-2) handicap win with Bethard at 4/5.
