Expect goals at the San Siro

On Sunday the 11th of November the two Serie A giants Juventus and AC Milan will meet at the San Siro. It should be an interesting match up and a game I look forward to watching. Sure, Juventus are a few levels above AC Milan these days, but the pressure and the history weighing down on these fixtures always play their part in the occasion. I think we are going to see a few goals this match from both teams.

Milan

The red and black AC Milan have already enjoying a decent start to their season. There are still a number of persistent issues and weaknesses in the team and Guttuso has yet to really prove himself as a manager but they've still produced some good performances and picked up a quite a few points so far. Milan's main weakness is their away form, where they have only won 20% of their games compared to 80% of their home games. Four wins and a draw at home with a goal difference of 12-7. So, Milan have definitely shown they can score this season but they have also conceded a fair few. At the same time their games at the San Siro over the autumn have ended in both teams scoring, often with more than one goal each. Milan's average goals per game lies at 2.40 scored compared to 1.40 conceded at home; stats that speak for themselves. The reason behind these stats is unsurprisingly that Milan's strength lies in their attack rather than their defence. Higuain, Suso and Calhanoglu can guarantee you goals but their defensive line and goalkeeper Donnarumma are a little jittery at the moment. Milan will miss Caldara and Strinic against Juventus. Higuain is a doubt for this match as he aggrivated a back injury against Udinese in their 1-0 win last night.

Juventus

The Old Lady is on it's way to another successful season full of accolades. In Europe Juventus are currently the most in-form team, and by default they are the favourites to win Serie A this year. Allegri is one of the most tactically astute managers around with a large and talented squad at his disposal. The attack with Ronaldo, Dybala, Bernardeschi and Costa are the best in the league as is their defensive partnership of Chiellini, Bonucci. Ten wins, one draw and no losses this season, with a goal difference of 24-8 is not something to take lightly. But Juventus do have a weakness. Like AC Milan they have let in a few too many goals, often because of sloppy passes from Bonucci. They score in every game, but away from home they have conceded goals in three out of five matches, against opposition that were significantly weaker than AC Milan. In their last five matches, four have ended with both teams scoring a goal. Emre Can and Mandzukic will miss this game due to injury.
