Man United to start with a win against Palace
Manchester United will face Crystal Palace on Saturday with the home side looking to push the top sides this season. Can they overcome a Palace side whose best hope is a mid-table finish this season? Have a read of our preview here:
It’s Gunner be a better year
Under Ole Gunner Solskjaer United have finally begun to look the part. They ended last season on a great run of form and pipped Leicester to a top-four finish despite being on the outside looking in for the whole campaign.
The chase for Jadon Sancho has taken up the majority of column inches this summer and the latest reports suggest United are finally giving up on the winger as Dortmund’s price tag refuses to come down.
Fear not, they have a front line already containing Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial and Sir Marcus Rashford.
These three musketeers are the trio upon which United will look to build. Bruno Fernandes is the star in midfield while Paul Pogba remains an option if he is interested in staying.
Have they enough depth? That is the big question. They will need to match Liverpool and Man City this season if they are to challenge for the title, something not many can see as a realistic ambition.
More of the same from Palace
Palace fans of a certain age will be delighted to finally be a stable Premier League club. Staying put and enjoying top-flight football year on year should be enough for many supporters, but, and there is a but, will it get boring?
We have seen it with other sides (Charlton spring to mind) where just being consistently able to avoid the drop becomes a lack of ambition, only to then bite them when they overreach.
Wilfried Zaha may be finally on his way (again) meaning Palace will need to add both creativity and goals to a team that has especially lacked the latter in recent seasons, but they should be strong enough to survive for another year at this level.
Manchester United v Crystal Palace betting tip
Manchester United will believe they can do better this season after showing huge improvements at the back end of last season. For Palace, it could be much of the same so we are backing Man United to win at odds of 1.29 with Betway in this one.
