Carabao cups 3rd round
Manchester City welcome Bournemouth to the Etihad during the Carabao cups third round on Thursday evening. Both teams have kicked off their respective season with wins but how will it end on Thursday?
Manchester City
The citizens may have quite a few injury/virus worries but that did not stop them from putting on quite the display against a fierce Wolverhampton squad that ended in 3-1 victory away from home.
The 3 days rest between the games is decent but will still more than likely cause some rotation, especially given the fact that they play on Sunday again. However, with that said, City certainly have the depth to handle the strain.
Pep has made no secret of the fact that he wants to win the treble this year meaning that he will do everything in his power to guide his team to victory and advancement come Thursday.
Bournemouth
The Cherries kicked off their season with a narrow win at home to Blackburn with 3-2 and followed that up with a 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough which is definitely a decent start.
Bournemouths main goal, their only goal really, is to make their way back to where they came from, the Premier league and i highly doubt that the Carabao cup is is going to be that high up on their to-do list.
The question is, how much will they rotate seeing as how an away trip to Manchesters blue side is as hard as they come. Do they rotate and risk a major loss or do they field their strongest XI and risk being greatly fatigued before their league game on Sunday? whichever they those, victory is too big of an ask.
Betting tip
City are simply too good and they now come up against a Championship side that wont have a chance if the Citizens bring their A game, or even B game which is why i will be backing Manchester City to win & over 2.5 goals with Betway.
