Man City to continue Group C dominance
Manchester City are at home as the Champions League group stages get back underway on Tuesday. Can City continue their dominance in the early stages or will there be a shock in store? Have a read of our preview here:
Walk in the park
This is a group should be an absolute walk in the park for Manchester City given the lack of a goliath to give them a real challenge.
The 3-0 win in Ukraine was a nice way to get the group stages off to the perfect start and a home game against Dinamo Zagreb should be viewed as another straight forward three-points.
City need to make sure they do not get complacent against the Croatian side. Dinamo beat Italian outfit Atalanta 4-0 in their opening Group C game, a result that was met with some surprise by a number of pundits. It is highly unlikely that they will do the same to City but it should be a warning to Pep’s side that this opponent can be ruthlessly efficient if they are given too much time and space to operate.
Mislav Orsic netted the hat-trick for Nenad Bjelica’s side as they made a fast start, scoring three before half-time and City will have to prepared on Tuesday night.
No distractions for Pep’s men
It has been an unfortunate week for Bernardo Silva following a controversial post the midfielder made on social media. The club will be hoping that this is all forgotten as they head back into Champions League action.
City have a habit of dominating the group stages of this competition only to go out in the last 16 but they still have to do a professional job against a very good Dinamo side.
They showed no signs of letting up as they scored twice in the final 20 minutes at Goodison Park to at the weekend to secure a big win that keeps them on the coat tails of early pace setters Liverpool. That same energy will be required if they are to compete for both domestic and European trophies this season.
Manchester City vs. Dinamo Zagreb betting tip
Manchester City’s demolition job against Watford plus the fact that they put three past both Shakhtar and Everton suggests that this could be another high scoring affair but in the one-sided sense. That is why backing City to win by four or more goals at odds of 7/4 with Betfair should not be sniffed at. It is also worth thinking about the over 3.5 goals at odds of 8/5.
