The title-race lives
We are going to buck the trend a bit and visit Sweden's Allsvenskan for this tip with Malmö welcoming AIK to Swedbank Stadion in the very tight race for gold. A lot is at stake here with Malmö in 3rd place and AIK in 4th only behind on goal difference with both teams a mere 3 points behind 1st placed Djurgården with only 2 games left to play.
Malmö
The team from Skåne recently forfeited their 1st place position after losing to fellow title-contenders Hammarby last weekend but the title race is still very much on meaning that this game is most definitely make or break.
Back on track
Uwe Rösler's men will have their confidence somewhat restored after beating Lugano in a similarly important clash in Europa League's group B with 2-1 last Thursday.
No strangers to pressure
Malmö is a top team that regularly features in Europe meaning that they are no strangers to pressure, they have the best squad in Sweden and should honestly be doing better than this. But as is the case with a lot of teams in Europe, they have a hard time keeping up with the gruelling schedule of both domestic and European play, despite their financial muscle.
Malmö lost "the biggest game of the season" last weekend to Hammarby and will do everything possible to avoid losing another "biggest game of the season", with the quality they possess i have a hard time seeing them lose too.
AIK
Last years champions have had a good season but not the one they envisioned having prior to it's start. A loss against Hammarby 4 weeks ago was a blow to their title-challenge but the draw against a lowly Elfsborg the week after really dampened things in the AIK camp.
Consistently poor performances
This was a long time coming though with AIK racking up horrible performances against both strong and poor opposition. The main reason as to why they are not farther down the table is due to the fact that referee's have been gifting them undeserved penalties left and right.
All is definitely not lost though with the reigning champs only 3 points behind league leaders Djurgården. The issue is that if they don't win this game, it will all be over. Talk about pressure.
Betting tip
Malmö have been slightly better than AIK and with home advantage they should bag it in a tight affair which is why i will be backing a Malmö win and under 3.5 goals at 13/10 with Bethard.
