Italy vs. Switzerland
Italy and Switzerland face off at Rome's Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday evening during group A's second round of games. Will Italy snag another three points and secure passage to the knockout phase or will the Swiss cause an upset and put themselves in the driving seat?
Italy
The Italian's produced a masterclass performance against Turkey beating them in an über impressive fashion with 3-0. Gli Azzurri produced seventeen shots, of which eight were on goal, along with eight corners, and owning 61% of possession by the end of the game, whilst allowing only three shots, of which two were on goal for the Turks.
Mancini has transformed this side into a free-flowing winning machine with eight straight wins, a streak that is likely to continue if they perform as they recently have come Wednesday night.
Italy are one of the teams that will enjoy two games on their home turf, a huge factor given that fans are now allowed back. This, coupled with the new generation of young, immensely talented attacking players in their squad, should be enough to top the group.
Switzerland
The Swiss were unlucky to say the least during their first game against Wales, which ended in a stalemate. Switzerland dominated the game finishing with 62% possession, twelve shots, of which four were on goal, as well as twelve(!) corners.
However, their poor finishing ruined it for them and they had to settle with one point. The Swiss are currently on an eight game streak without suffering a defeat, of which five ended in victory, also included in that run are draws against both Spain and Germany, meaning that they are a hard team to beat.
If the Swiss are to have any chance at qualifying, they will have to drastically improve their performance in the final third, a very tall ask given Wednesdays opposition.
Betting tip
Italy were a delight to watch and will have bolstered their status as dark horse's to win the Euro's. I believe that the Italian's will be too much for the Swiss, which is why i will be backing Italy to win at 1.61 with Betway.
