A chance for AC Milan to end derby loss streak
AC Milan will play at San Siro for the fifth time in six games on Sunday night, visitors in this one though. It is a big week for both Milan clubs with the derby commencing, swiftly followed by the first leg of the sides’ respective Coppa Italia semifinals. Intertravel to Naples with Milan hosting the champions elect Juventus. Despite a shocking head-to-head record in recent meetings, Milan will be quietly confident coming into this one off the back of an excellent run, above of Inter in the form table for the last five matches in third.
Bragging rights firmly with the Black and Blues
Antonio Conte’s men have been victorious in the last three Milan derbies on the bounce and are unbeaten inside 90 minutes in the last eight. They come into this one pretty firm favourites despite having won for the first time in three attempts in Serie A last time out, their consistency is undeniable only being defeated on one occasion in the league this campaign, compared to ninth placed Milan’s eight. The title challengers are 19 points ahead of their rivals with the best defence in the division, they should raise their game and assert their authority on Sunday evening.
Milan’s attacking stars
If they all show up, the Red and Blacks attacking contingent is mouth-watering. Should that not go to plan you can always rely on Zlatan Ibrahimovic to keep his cool in decisive moments, and there are not many larger atmospheres and stages than the Milan derby. Summer signing wingers Rafael Leao and Ante Rebic were flattering to deceive in the early part of the season however they seem to be coming to form in this hot streak, particularly the latter and Croatiainternational.
The 26-year-old has played all across the front three this season and has produced his best form since the new year, his most eye-catching performance coming in the form of a second half brace from the bench, helping his side to come from behind and defeat Udinese 3-2.
Inter backline, impenetrable no more
Even thoughInternazionale have been a symbol of solidity this term with the league’s strongest defence, conceding just 18 in 22 games they have only kept one clean sheet in the last seven. Including a 1-1 draw and narrow 2-1 win over Lecce and Fiorentina of the lower positions in Serie A, suggesting a derby leveler and Milan’s attacking potential will be enough to grab them a goal.
This is a must win if Inter are to get back on Juventus’ tail and given their lack of recent comfortable results, backing both teams to score would be wise here.

What a match. Milan lead 2-0 at the break before Inter came back like never before, slamming to ball home four times in the second half, all is well that ends well for Conte, 4-2.
