Low-scoring meets uneven
Örebro travel south to Helsingborg on Monday evening in what beforehand looks like a very even matchup. Both teams find themselves on the same amount of points but are separated by a solitary goal difference, this, coupled with the fact that they are only 6 points above the relegation zone means that the points up for grab are very important indeed.
Helsingborg
The team from Skåne took the step up to the Allsvenskan this season after having won the second division with relative ease last year, this after getting relegated 2 years ago in miserable fashion.
After a few shrewd transfers with the most notable being Andreas Granqvist, Sweden's hero from last years World Cup, things were looking pretty promising. However, after a few disappointing results and unfortunate injuries things are starting to heat up.
While Helsingborg's stats of 4 wins, 5 draws and 7 defeats are not catastrophic but a lot more is still desired by the fans that once experienced regular European football.
A big boost for Helsingborg and an important factor in betting is that they are much better at home than they are away, HIF have 3 wins, 3 draws and 2 defeats at the Olympia stadium. Also worth mentioning is that the defeats came against Malmö and AIK respectively which is to be expected.
Örebro
As i have written so many times before Örebro's absolutely biggest problem is their inconsistency. They manage to win tough home and away games only to follow them up with lowly defeats to worse teams, at home and away.
Their stats of 5 wins, 2 draws and 9 losses sums it up pretty well and the fact that they have more victories away from home also adds to the conundrum. With a few really promising players their victories really aren't that surprising, its the defeats at home that are a tad bit shocking.
Örebro are coming off the back of a well-needed 4-0 win to Falkenberg and usually one would think that a victory like that would buoy a team but nope, not in Örebro's case. Not sure where i wanted to go with that but i'll leave it there just to reiterate the fact that Örebro are ridiculously uneven.
Betting tip
Helsingborg are involved in a lot of low-scoring games, especially at home. This coupled with the fact that Örebro recently won and are probably not capable of winning 2 on the bounce leads me to think that Helsingborg will take something, if not everything from this but the odds are horribly low. However, due to the home teams low-scoring, low-conceding ways i will be backing Under 2.5 goals at 9/10 with Bethard.
