Tunisia go out with a bang
It’s the last game for both teams in the World Cup. Neither have managed to get a single point from either of their matches. A third place spot would be deserving for Tunisia to be honest. Against both England and Belgium the Tunisians gave them a game for parts of the match, much more than Panama have contributed to their own campaign. Panama are arguably the competition’s worst team and deserve to go home with no points.
Panama
Along with Saudi Arabia’s game against Russia in the opener, Panama’s game against England has to be one of the poorest showing in the tournament. Panama managed one against England with 37 year old Felipe Baloy converting Panama’s first ever goal in a World Cup. It’s not likely there will be more though.
Panama have let in nine goals in two games, and in the first half against England the Panamanians looked like they’d never played a football match in their lives. I don’t think they have what it takes to win this match.
On the other hand the Tunisian players will want to finish the World Cup in good spirits
Tunisia
Tunisia have had a bit of bad luck, losing the game to England in the last minute of their opening match. That was a point they surely needed. In their second against Belgium they lost 5-2 and there isn’t much else to say, except the possession during the game was fairly even.
Tunisia have had it hard in meeting two top European teams in their first two matches. In one way it’s their last match, and a meaningless one that they should expect to win. On the other hand the Tunisian players will want to finish the World Cup in good spirits, and they are a decent football team. In that sense they need to win this match.
Match Tips
I think Tunisia won’t fancy leaving the World Cup without a win. Panama were obviously happy just to score a goal in the tournament. That’s why a Tunisia win looks pretty obvious for me. I’m going for a Tunisia win at odds of 17/20 (1.85).
