Jedinak will lead the line one more time
Funnily enough this is my first goalscorer tip for the World Cup, and I’m putting my confidence in midfield enforcer and Aussie talisman Mile Jedinak. The 33 year old midfielder is before anything else a key defensive cog in the Australian machine, protecting the backline from his deep midfield role.
But at 6”2 Jedinak is also extremely dangerous in set pieces and when Australia advance into the opposition’s box he can often nick one in with his head. Aside from this and to his benefit, he’s also Australia's main penalty taker, and has already converted two confident penalties against both Denmark and France in the World Cup.
In qualification Jedinak scored a whopping 10 goals in 13 matches
Even before the tournament he was a force to be reckoned with. In qualification Jedinak scored a whopping 10 goals in 13 matches, even scoring a key hat trick in the playoffs. So now you understand why it’s not completely out of the question for Jedinak to hang around the box and claim a header, or even another penalty against Peru.
I found great odds with LeoVegas at 17/4 (5.25) for Jedinak to lead the line for his team as they fight for their lives to make it out of their group.
