Double your money on Salah to score
Egypt, much like Saudi Arabia, never quite arrived at the summer party that is World Cup 2018. It’s my view that Egypt, initially, fared quite well in their opener with Uruguay but completely froze against Russia, while Saudi Arabia were also caught cold by the hosts but managed to redeem themselves by keeping the scoreline respectable against Uruguay. Both countries are heading home but first have the chance to restore some pride in this final group game.
Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦
And so it turned out Saudi Arabia were not just bad, they were really bad. Even though they raised their game slightly against Uruguay, they’re still without a goal; the likes of Al-Sahlawi and Al-Muwallad failed to live upto the, albeit little, hype they were given. It seems Saudi Arabia offer nothing but comedy value and they’re by far a worse team than Egypt, though they will take a small crumb of comfort from coming up against an Egyptian side bound to be at a low ebb having exited the tournament so quickly. This said, I view the match not going the way of Saudi Arabia thus leaving them point less from their three games.
Egypt 🇪🇬
After qualifying for the World Cup for the first time since 1990 Egypt have been a big disappointment having hugely underperformed. Of course, going into the opening game without Salah proved difficult, while against Russia the Egyptians just didn’t turn up, despite the return of main man Salah. The likes of Elneny, Trezeguet and Hegazi could all be accused of failing to deliver at the level required, leaving Egypt with nothing left to play for but honour for the shirt. That man Salah though should prove the difference between the two sides in this clash.
Betting Tip
A meaningless match with just the matter of pride to play for. However, as mentioned, I fully expect Egypt’s number 10, Salah to make the difference here with his speed and artistry and go out to prove himself on this stage. That's why I'm laying money on Salah to score at odds of 20/21 (1.97).
