Important clash in Gothenburg
Norrköping travel to Gothenburg to play IFK Göteborg in what is a very important game for both teams. The pair of them are in dire need of victories in order to stay in the title race whilst a defeat will prove detrimental not only due to placement purposes but also for team morale.
Göteborg
Gothenburg's biggest team have had a fine season so far and can currently be found at 5th place, 7 points behind Malmö in first but with one game less played which means that all is not lost, especially with the European spots still very much up for grabs.
Göteborg have only lost 1 game in their last 13 and have amassed some very impressive results within that time too. Victories against AIK at home as well as Norrköping away are nothing short of fantastic and are an indicator that Göteborg might just be on their way back to cementing themselves as a top team in Sweden. It would be ludicrous of me to not also mention their draws at home to Malmö and Hammarby, which they were very close to winning too.
All in all, if i were a Göteborg fan i would be excited for this matchup which they would most definitely not have been a year ago when everything was going to sh*t.
Norrköping
IFK Norrköping can be found at 7th with 27 points (2 behind Göteborg) which is of course not the end of the world but it is nevertheless far below their expectations.
Norrköping, otherwise known as Peking, were very clear at the beginning of the season that they were going to be challenging Malmö for the title of top dog. How wrong they were. After far too many draws (6) and defeats (4) i would go as far as to say that their ambitions for gold are as dead as Charlie Sheen's career.
However, with the Europa League places still up for grabs Norrköping have everything to play for and with one of the best squads in the league i do expect them to start performing better in the near future.
Although, a huge source of worry is that top scorer and probably best player Jordan Larsson is strongly rumoured to be on his way to the Russian league and will not be featuring in anymore games, yikes.
Betting tip
This is a hard game to call due to both teams having hiccups at the strangest of times to only follow them up with sublime performances against the top teams. One bet i fancy a little extra and will be backing is Over 2.5 goals at 9/10 with Bethard.
