Dinamo Minsk to go back-to-back against Gorodeya
Gorodeya and Dinamo Minsk both enjoyed away wins in Round 3 of the Belarusian Premier League campaign. Can the home side build on their first win or will Dinamo have too much quality? Have a read of our preview here:
Free kick bags three points for Gorodeya
It has been a tricky start to the season for Gorodeya. They finished seventh last year in the Premier League but suffered back-to-back defeats to kick of the current campaign.
What was alarming about those losses was they came against sides you’d expect them to do better against. A 1-0 loss to Vitebsk on day one was harsh, but they followed this up with a lacklustre performance at home to Shakhtyor meaning they hadn’t managed a goal in the first two matches of the season.
Step up Lazar Sajcic. The 23-year-old winger hit a pin-point free-kick into the bottom corner against Belshina to bag Gorodeya’s first goal and win of the campaign in a match where they were out-shot 15 to five.
Facing Dinamo Minsk will be an altogether tougher challenge and based upon their opening performances this season, they could well struggle.
Dinamo off the mark
Dinamo Minsk achieved two things last weekend when they beat Torpedo Bel-AZ. They bagged their first win of the season after defeats in both their previous two games and they also kept their first clean-sheet of the campaign.
This is a fantastic result for last season’s fourth-placed outfit and could well give them a confidence boost following an awful first-half display in the derby defeat to FC Minsk last weekend.
Two first half goals were enough to see off Torpedo Bel-AZ in a game where the hosts created seven chances to the visitors two.
Vladislav Klimovich struck a well-hit opener from range to give Dinamo the lead before Karlo Brucic stole in at the back post to extend the lead just before the break.
If Dinamo reproduce a similarly dominant display against Gorodeya, then it should be back-to-back wins for Sergei Gurenko’s side.
Gorodeya v Dinamo Minsk betting tip
They have been slow to find their rhythm this season and one results doesn’t always mean things are about to change, but Dinamo Minsk are a good side in this league and should be able to beat Gorodeya on Saturday. With that in mind, we are backing Dinamo Minsk to win at odds of 19/20 with Betfair.
