Out of sorts Dinamo Brest Vs bottom side Belshina
In what would have been thought to be a top end versus bottom end of the table encounter, it is actually only separated by two positions. Dinamo Brest are having a high-profile terrible start to the this Belarusian Premier League campaign, having picked up just seven points from the opening six. They are however a comfortable five points the superior of their Sunday afternoon opponents Belshina Bobruisk, yet their midweek cup thriller with Shakhtyor Soligorsk may give the newly promoted hosts an edge. Both sides will be desperate for three points with Bobruisk yet to get a win on the board and Brest losing pace on the top end of the league, to which they are reigning champions.
Recent form
Belshina are winless and have not achieved a shutout this season, though they are interestingly yet to concede in the first 45 at home. Dinamo Brest’s Pavel Savitskiy comes into the match in good form having notched in three of his last four in all competitions. An entertaining game could be on the cards with a draw no good to either side and history suggests just as much with seven of the last nine head-to-heads bringing over 2.5 goals.
Ones to watch
27-year-old engine roomer Pavel Bordukov opened his account for the season in Belshina’s last game against league leaders Slutsk. His early second half strike got the league’s bottom side on level terms with the early season pace setters, before they were pipped to a 3-2 loss in the 87th minute. The midfielder was instrumental in their promotion last season, appearing in 26 out of 28 league outings and popping up with two goals, his energy could be crucial as he looks to establish himself and team in Belarus’ topflight.
Mikhail Gordejchuk is a quality player enduring a frustrating start to the 2020 season, with the Belarusian Premier League now through a fifth of its fixtures. The Belarus international turned out for Belshina early last decade and contributed 13 goals and nine assists in 56 outings before his career embarked on an upward trajectory signing for BATE Borisov. The versatile forward has great experience and is a prolific creator yet to show his best form this term, he grabbed his first goal of the campaign against Shakhtyor Soligorsk in midweek and will be hungry to fire 14th placed Brest up the table.
On paper it is a mismatch, but Belshina will fight for every ball and make Dinamo Brest earn this victory.
