Belgium to set the pace in Group E
Match 2 of Group E comes to pass this Saturday evening as world no. 1 side Belgium travel to 42nd best nation according to the Fifa World Rankings in Czech Republic. Roberto Martinez’s men will be huge favourites to win the group with Wales, their match 1 opponents and Czech Republic expected to be fighting it out for second spot. Belgium are strong favourites unsurprisingly but it is a nice price to enhance in using the Asian Handicap, with the knowledge our stake will return if Belgium win the game I have found an odds against punt to deploy for hopefully some Saturday night success.
Group E
E is one of the smaller five team groups with smaller nations in Estonia and Belarus possibly easy pickings for the other three. Wales taking on Czech Republic will be probably the most tense viewing of the qualification with the main competitiveness expected to be in fighting for second place. Both teams play on Wednesday before this meeting, when the Czechs go to Estonia and Belgium host Wales, Martinez’s men have the chance to beat both of their fiercest competitors in the group in the first week of qualifying.
Belgium have much more depth than the hosts, and in that should be better prepared and less fatigued for this second match of the international break, that including with the gap between these two nations in the rankings, has the potential to be a bit of a mismatch. Czech Republic have won six of their last eight on home soil including a victory over England however, Belgium are a more complete side and boast world class talent in almost every position of the pitch.
Goals?
With these teams not playing competitive football recently I am more comfortable in choosing an outright punt rather than speculating any goals suggestions.
- Czech have scored in seven of 10.
- Czech have conceded in eight of 10.
- Czech have seen both teams score in five of 10.
- Czech have seen over 2.5 goals in five of 10.
- Belgium have scored in 10 of 10 and in all of their last 25.
- Belgium have conceded in eight of 10.
- Belgium have seen both teams score in eight of 10.
- Belgium have seen over 2.5 goals in seven of 10.
The Czechs will look to contain the Belgians for as long as they can, if the visitors can break the deadlock in the first half then they could go on to win handsomely.
