Group H showdown
Chelsea and Ajax battle it out for top spot in Group H on Tuesday night in what is increasingly looking like the deciding game due to Valencia's recent lack of form. Will the blues cement their first place or will Ajax show us why they reached last years semi-finals.
Chelsea
Lampard's men have exceeded all expectations so far and find themselves in the middle of a seven game winning streak in all competitions, the important ones at least (*cough* Carabao Cup).
Lookin' like winners
Chelsea can currently be found at fourth in the Prem after a close, but deserved 2-1 win at Watford showcasing the fact that they not only obviously have the talent but also the grit to be able to hold onto a lead. This was also on display during their 0-1 win against Tuesday's opposition a fortnight ago.
Strong at home
Chelsea have, disregarding the Carabao Cup yet again, only lost two home games this season, one against Liverpool and the other against Valencia back in September. The Blues are on the up and things are looking undoubtedly good at the moment.
Ajax
If Chelsea are having a good season, double that and you're half way to where Ajax find themselves somewhere in the sky.
Going strong
The Amsterdam outfit are undefeated in the league after twelve rounds and were well on their way towards extending their undefeated streak through all competitions before Batshuayi silenced the Johan Cruijff Arena in the 86th minute.
After Ajax's run in the Champions League last year many expected them to falter due to every big(ger) club in Europe pulling at basically every player but they have coped well and even managed to keep a few of their stars.
Can't count them out
Erik Ten Hag's men are fantastic on the road, their 3-0 thrashing of Valencia at the Mestalla proved that they've still got it so expect them to take the game to Chelsea and fight for first place.
Betting tip
Both teams play entertaining, attacking football thus meaning they are high-scorers which is why i will be backing Both teams to score at 13/25 with Bethard.
