Milan's chase is on
Its Friday night football in Italy when Brescia welcome AC Milan to the Stadio Mario Rigamonti. Milan will be hoping their turn of form continues while Brescia are simply looking to leave the relegation zone, read on for our take on it.
Brescia
Balotelli's homecoming has not been what he'd hoped for when first signing for his childhood club and is to both his and the fans disappointment suspended for this clash against his former employers.
Abysmal home form
La Leonessa can be found second to last in the Serie A but can, with a win, climb three places and temporarily exit the relegation zone. The problem is, Brescia's home form has been abysmal having only succeeded in taking five of their fifteen total points on their home turf.
To really emphasise how bad they are at home, Brescia have lost seven out of their ten home games and were lucky to escape with a point at all in both draws. Their goal difference of 11-21 does not exactly instil confidence either.
Top scorer suspended
As touched upon further up, top scorer Balotelli is suspended for this clash which definitely does not make things easier for the newcomers.
Brescia fans will more than likely be in for another long night.
Milan
Stefano Pioli's men are unbeaten in their last four (a cup game included) with three of them ending in solid wins for the Milanese. This turnaround has led to a renewed discussion of Milan's chances of finishing in the top four and judging by their last few weeks, it seems very possible indeed.
Zlatan's winning mentality has spread like a disease throughout the Milan camp and they honestly look like a whole new side; a newfound passion if you will.
Catching up to the leading pack
The Rossoneri are "only" ten points behind 4th placed Roma who find themselves in somewhat of a rut at the moment meaning that what seemed highly unlikely a month ago is now something that will more than likely happen given their fantastic form.
Strong on the road against weaker opposition
Milan have amassed five wins and five defeats on their away trips but all defeats have come against sides above them, bar Udinese, meaning that they perform well against the lesser teams in the league. Brescia is definitely a lesser team.
Betting tip
Due to all the factors at play i will be simply backing a Milan win at 77/100 with Betway.
