Match Preview: Liverpool vs. Newcastle

Newcastle have enjoyed some decent form away from home in recent weeks, beating Huddersfield and Burnley and drawing with Everton. But the magpies will not only be travelling to the Premier League leaders this Boxing Day but they will also have had one less day to recover.

The Reds remain undefeated in their last 29 home matches in the Premier League. In recent weeks they've beaten Man Utd 3-1, Napoli 1-0 and Everton 1-0 at Anfield. Due to their heavy schedule it is expected that Klopp with rotate some of his squad with Xherdan Shaqiri, Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum all looking to start.

In recent years, despite differing fortunes in the league, these two teams have played some close games. Liverpool won their last match at home 2-0 but the previous two meetings had ended in narrow draws.

The bookies unsurprisingly have Liverpool as favourites to win this, with a draw considered more likely than a Newcastle win. Benitez will be desperate to build on his team's first clean sheet against Fulham over the weekend.
