Chelsea vs. Man Utd: Preview
Both teams have endured humbling experiences over the past week. Chelsea were beaten 0-6 by Man City in the Premier League and Man Utd were soundly beaten 0-2 at Old Trafford by PSG in the Champions League.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has finally lost and this game will be the perfect opportunity for his Man Utd to bounce back. In fact, it's the only competition he stands a chance of winning. Man Utd were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Derby in the 3rd round - whilst still under Mourinho. They are trailing 2-0 to PSG after the first leg in the Champions League last-16 and they sit fourth in the Premier League.
Chelsea edged past Malmö, last-season's Swedish champions (current champions are AIK), 1-2 last night. It was a flaccid performance but got the job down and means they are all but in the last-16. Sarri's men are already in a cup final. They will face Man City in the Carabao Cup on the 24th of February in what could be the Italian's first trophy.
Both teams have suffered tough weeks and we feel this is a hard one to call. If we look at their head-to-head results we can see that these matches have been really close.
You have to go back to May 2013 for the last time Man Utd and Chelsea played each other and the away team won!
One thing that will be really interesting is how Solskjaer can bounce back from his first defeat. Up until the PSG game it felt like his Man Utd had everything on their side, but do they still have their mojo after their mid-week defeat? Jesse Lingard is also out injured.
